Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have fibroids which are big in the uterus and adnomyosis outside the uterus. I missed my period almost 2 months now and I am usually pretty regular as far as getting it every month. I started last month to feel pain ahead of time and assumed my period would come. I only saw spotting and it never showed. I went for a physical and my doctor said my uterus was enlarged. I began to experience pregnancy symtoms such as nauseousness at night, full breasts, overeating and feeling like I never ate and a 20 lb weight gain. I do have hyperthyroidism and am on medication for that I am also on medication for high prolactin. Please shed some light as to if I took an over the counter pregnancy test and it came back negative could I still be pregnant. I am 51 and Im not sure if I am pre-menopausal.
As you are 51, this will be menopausal symptoms. If the fibroid is troubling too much then hysterectomy is advised. Medicines for thyroid needs to be continued to get under control. Post hysterectomy little consciousness towards health can achieve good results. Like proper Medications, exercise and healthy food.
Fibroids are usually benign and not malignant in 90% of cases. But still, post hysterectomy a biopsy is advised.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
